New Delhi: In a significant move, IndiGo, the country’s largest airline, announced on Thursday the removal of fuel surcharge from its ticket prices for both domestic and international flights. This decision coincides with a recent decrease in Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices.
Initially, IndiGo had included fuel charges in tickets issued on October 6, 2023. However, due to the subsequent decline in ATF prices, the airline has chosen to eliminate the fuel surcharge from ticket pricing. Notably, there have been three reductions in ATF prices recorded after October.
A statement from the airline highlighted that despite challenges posed by fluctuating fuel prices, IndiGo remains committed to offering affordable, punctual, courteous, and hassle-free travel experiences for its customers. This decision, according to the airline, underscores its dedication to customer satisfaction and adaptability in response to the changing aviation landscape.
