Chennai: 5 arrested for setting 19-Year-old girl on fire in Tamil Nadu. Aishwarya, a native of Thanjavur was killed by her father and relatives for falling in love with a Dalit youth.
The young woman, Aishwarya, married Naveen, a boy from a different caste, on December 31st. Following this, the girl’s father complained to the police that his daughter was missing. The girl was brought to the police station and the police intervened and sent her away with her father and relatives. Then Aishwarya’s husband, Naveen, attempted to contact her but was unable to reach her. Naveen then lodged a complaint with the police.
During the subsequent investigation, law enforcement received information indicating that the young woman had been set on fire and killed by her father and relatives. Police have confirmed the arrest of the accused individuals involved in this tragic incident.
