Kollam: Action has been taken against the accused in the case of the suicide of Assistant Public Prosecutor Aneeshya in Paravur. Deputy Director of Prosecution Abdul Jalil and Paravur JFCM Court Assistant Public Prosecutor Shyam Krishnan have been suspended, as per the order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The Crime Branch is currently in the process of recording the statement of the Paravur Magistrate regarding the incident. Aneeshya had sent a mobile message to the Paravur Magistrate, expressing that she was facing mental torture to the extent that she was not allowed to work. The magistrate’s statement is being taken to ascertain the truth of these claims.
Aneeshya (41), who served as an Assistant Public Prosecutor in the Paravur Court for nine years, was discovered hanging in the bathroom. Before taking her own life, she posted a farewell note on social media. Aneeshya’s family has recently raised concerns, alleging that the investigation has been slow, despite 11 days passing since the incident.
