New Delhi: Union Minister on Sunday gave a befitting reply to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi after latter claimed that the ruling BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) are controlling Facebook WhatsApp in India.

Prasad in response tagged Gandhi ” losers who cannot influence people even in their own party”.

“Losers who cannot influence people even in their own party keep cribbing that the entire world is controlled by BJP & RSS. You were caught red-handed in alliance with Cambridge Analytica & Facebook to weaponise data before the elections & now have the gall to question us?” the minister said.

“The fact is that today access to information and freedom of expression has been democratized. It is no longer controlled by retainers of your family and that is why it hurts. Btw, haven’t yet heard your condemnation of the Bangalore riots. Where did your courage disappear?,” Prasad said in another tweet.

Rahul Gandhi had shared an article published in Wall Street Journal stating that Facebook executive did not approve the move to ban controversial politicians of the ruling BJP and a Facebook executive had said punishing violations by BJP workers “would damage the company’s business prospects in the country”.

Meanwhile, Facebook has come forward to comment upon the new controversy saying that the company prohibits content that can incite violence and enforces policies globally regardless of political position of anybody.

“We prohibit hate speech and content that incites violence and we enforce these policies globally regardless of anyone’s political position or party affiliation. While we know there is more to do, we’re making progress on enforcement and conduct regular audits of our process to ensure fairness and accuracy,” asserted Facebook spokesperson.
