Mumbai: Soon after Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) issued summons to Rhea Chakraborty, accused in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, she arrived at its office in Mumbai’s Ballard Pier on Sunday to join the probe.
“Rhea Chakraborty is ready for arrest… it’s a witch hunt. If loving someone is a crime, she’ll face consequences. Being innocent, she hasn’t approached any court for anticipatory bail in all cases foisted by (the) Bihar Police with (the) CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation), ED (Enforcement Directorate) and (the) NCB, ” Satish Maneshinde, her lawyer, said today.
A day earlier, Rhea’s brother Showik Chakraborty and Sushant’s ex-house manager were sent to NCB custody till September 9. Meanwhile, late actor’s domestic help Dipesh Swant has been sent to 3-day remand.
The drugs angle came to light after an alleged WhatsApp chats were retrieved from her phone. The chats indicated on procuring drugs between Rhea and a contact saved as “Miranda Sushi”. He is believed to be Rajput’s house manager Samuel Miranda, who was also arrested by the NCB on Friday.
