Lucknow: In a big revelation, the police have claimed that the family of the alleged rape victim in Hathras was offered an amount of Rs 50 lakh. One of the 19 FIRS filed by the UP police alleges sedition and conspiracy by “unknown” people.
NDTV accessed FIR and reported that one of the six filed in Hathras, is based on a complaint by a sub-inspector and says: “Unruly elements offered ₹ 50 lakh to the family of the woman to speak untruths against the government.” It does not specify who those elements are.
An unknown “journalist tried to coax victim’s brother to record the bite of parents saying they were not satisfied with the UP government,” it says.
The Uttar Pradesh police has filed 19 FIRS across the state.
