Union Budget on February 1; Halwa ceremony took place in Delhi

New Delhi: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will present the budget for 2019-2020 on February 1. Printing process has already been started.To mark the commencement of Budget printing process,the halwa making ceremony took place. The Minister of State for Finance, Shiv Pratap Shukla, the Minister of State for Finance and Shipping, P. Radhakrishnan, the Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, S.C. Garg and the Secretary, Department of Expenditure, Ajay Narayan Jha were present at the halwa ceremony.

FM Arun Jaitley will be back in February last, after completing his treatment in America.To keep the secrecy of the budget,all officers and employees will stay back at the North Block of Parliament till the presentation of the budget.

This is the third budget to be presented after merging Rail Budget and Union Budget.The Central Government decided to merge both budgets on September 21.

The Budget meet will begin on January 29. The interim budget is a full fledged Union budget for the next fiscal will be presented by the new government.
