Dispur: Assam CM, Himanta Biswa Sarma laid down the foundation stone for projects of ₹2,500 Cr. Around 46 projects will happen under Public Works Department (PWD), Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Health Department, and more.
The CM has said the aim of these projects is to fulfil the promises he made during the campaign of election in Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council.
A few projects that he mentioned were the ₹922 Cr improvement and upgrade of a 75km long road connecting Hamren with Howraghat, and constructing a new Deputy Commissioner’s office complex at ₹26 Cr. The Assam CM added that, satisfying the hopes and aspirations of the people of Karbi Anglong is crucial.
130 Anaganwadis worth ₹300 Cr are being built and ₹895 Cr is allocated for the Jal Jeevan Mission as well. These are done by the State and Central Government as commitment for improving the lives of people in Karbi said the CM. The beneficiaries of the State Government’s Natoi project have been assured to receive ₹1,400 from next month onwards. He also mentioned about the Aayushman Bharath scheme too.
The Chief Executive Councillor for Development, Tuliram Ronghang in Karbi was appreciated by the CM. The Chief Minister also attended the 50th Annual General Meeting of the Central Executive Committee of the Karbi Students Association, praising them for their contributions in development of the socio-economic state of their society.
