Kolkata: The IRCTC’s inaugural Bharat Gaurav tourist train set off on the ‘Jyotirlinga Yatra’ from Kolkata railway station on Saturday. According to an Eastern Railway official, the special tourist train would visit five Jyotirlingas: Omkareshwar, Mahakaleshwar, Somnath, Nageshwar, and Trimbakeshwar, as well as the Statue of Unity, Shirdi Sai Baba, and Shani Shingnapur. The trip will last 11 nights and 12 days.
According to Hindu mythology, seeing the Jyotirlingas purifies the soul and absolves all sins. It is also believed that these temples are the central source of Shiva Shakti.
IRCTC’s Bharat Gaurav Train is providing trips to five Jyotirlinga temples. Bhimashankar Temple near Pune, Trimbakeshwar Temple located in Nasik, Dwarkadhish Temple in Dwarka, Somnath Temple at Veraval, Grishneshwar Temple, and Ellora Caves at Aurangabad will be visited during the trip.
All coaches are equipped with security staff and state-of-the-art CCTV cameras for the safety of passengers. Bharat Gaurav trains were introduced in the country under the ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ programme. This tour is a journey through places that evoke India’s rich cultural heritage and historical significance.
