Ladakh: India’s highest-altitude herbal garden has come up at an astonishing height of 50,000 feet above sea level in the Phobrang village in Leh. Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche, spiritual leader and founder of Green Go Organic, commenced this initiative. The project is being implemented with the cooperation of local residents.
The herbal garden has been prepared in the barren hills of the Leh region. These medicinal plants hold great significance among the Buddhist community and are used for various treatments in Ladakh and Tibet. These are rare medicinal plants that only grow at high altitudes.
The officials hope that the medicinal garden will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the biodiversity and environmental well-being of the Himalayas. Previously, the highest herbal garden in India was located in Badrinath, Utharakhand.
