Bhopal: After a meeting with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at the CM residence in Bhopal on Thursday, Dashmat Rawat, the victim of the Sidhi urination case, expressed satisfaction with the meeting. He stated, “I met the minister, it felt good. He called up my family and spoke to them. I felt good.”

When asked about the incident and why the accused urinated on him, Rawat replied, “What can I say? Nothing now. Whatever happened had happened.”

During the meeting, Chief Minister Chouhan washed Dashmat’s feet as a sign of respect, applied a tilak on his forehead, and adorned him with a garland. He also honoured Dashmat by presenting him with a shawl, a ceremonious coconut (Sri Phal), and an idol of Lord Ganesha. Additionally, the Chief Minister personally fed Dashmat with his own hand on the occasion. Afterward, CM Chouhan planted saplings with Dashmat at the Smart City Park in the state capital.

CM Chouhan commented on the incident, saying, “For me, the poor are like God, and serving the people is equivalent to worshipping God. We believe that God resides in every human being. I was deeply saddened by the inhumane incident that occurred with Dashmat Rawat. In my conscience, I believe that only the poor are deserving of our worship, and insulting the poor means insulting all of us.”

He further emphasised the importance of respect and security for the poor, acknowledging their self-respect and the need to preserve it. CM Chouhan’s message to the people and administration was to uphold the dignity and place of the poor in society.

It is worth noting that in a viral video of the incident, the accused, Pravesh Shukla (30), was seen urinating on Rawat. Following the video’s circulation on social media, CM Shivraj Chouhan took immediate action, ordering strict measures, including invoking the National Security Act (NSA) against the accused. The accused, Shukla, was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday and booked under the NSA. Sidhi Collector Saket Malviya issued the order to send the accused to Central Jail Rewa, and the local administration also demolished the accused’s illegal construction on the same day.
