New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the successful launch of Chandrayaan-3 as a significant milestone in India’s space exploration, marking the beginning of a new era. He expressed his belief that this achievement has elevated the aspirations and ambitions of all Indians.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched the Chandrayaan-3 lunar mission aboard the powerful LVM3-M4 rocket from Sriharikota.

“Chandrayaan-3 scripts a new chapter in India’s space odyssey. It soars high, elevating the dreams and ambitions of every Indian,” Modi said in a tweet. He further commended the unwavering dedication, spirit, and ingenuity displayed by the scientists involved in this momentous achievement.

Earlier, in a tweet this morning ahead of the launch, Modi said the Chandrayaan-3 mission will carry the hopes and dreams of our nation.

Highlighting the impact of India’s first lunar mission, Chandrayaan-1, Modi stated that it shattered the belief that the moon was devoid of water and geologically inactive. The mission revealed the moon to be a dynamic and geologically active celestial body, with the presence of water and sub-surface ice. The prime minister also expressed optimism about the potential future inhabitation of the moon.

Modi expressed gratitude to India’s scientists for the country’s rich history in space exploration. Chandrayaan-1, in particular, is considered a groundbreaking mission globally, as it confirmed the existence of water molecules on the moon. The mission’s findings have been featured in over 200 scientific publications worldwide.

Currently, Prime Minister Modi is on a two-day visit to France, having received an official invitation from President Emmanuel Macron.
