Indore: The Lord Hanuman temple, located in the heart of Madhya Pradesh’s Indore district, has become a captivating topic of discussion, capturing the public’s fascination due to its innovative embellishment with medicines.

According to reports from local media, Kamal Nayan, the temple’s priest, shared insights into the distinct approach undertaken at the Veer Alija Sarkar Hanuman temple. Situated in the Panchkuian area of the city, this ancient temple has been garnering attention for its unconventional decoration. In a departure from the ordinary, the temple’s idol of Veer Alija Sarkar Hanuman has been adorned in the semblance of a doctor, surrounded by an array of various medicines.

Explaining the inspiration behind this unique concept, Nayan stated, “The manifestation of Veer Alija Sarkar Hanuman ji as a doctor has been chosen to highlight the reverence people hold for the medical profession. By portraying God as a doctor, we aim to cultivate a sense of respect towards the healthcare fraternity among the public.”

In the current backdrop of prevalent seasonal ailments such as fevers, dengue, malaria, and eye flu, the temple’s creative endeavour bears a pertinent message. Nayan revealed, “The ongoing outbreak of these ailments has led us to utilise medicines commonly employed in their treatment for the temple’s decoration. This symbolic representation seeks to remind people of the importance of safeguarding their health.”

The medicines, valued at ₹1.25 lakhs, will be subsequently donated to the underprivileged at the Maharaja Yashwantrao Government Hospital, contributing to the welfare of the community. A nurse from a private hospital, Mudrika Yadav, who visited the temple, expressed her appreciation for the innovative gesture, remarking, “It is truly inspiring to witness the divine figure of Hanuman personified as a healer. The sanctity of a doctor’s role is highlighted through this unique embellishment, signifying the vital connection between divinity and the noble profession.”

The temple’s symbolic representation not only seeks to draw attention to prevailing health concerns but also to promote a culture of caution and care. Moreover, the temple’s creative endeavour extends beyond medical themes, spotlighting the city’s green corridor established for organ donation. This creative representation adds a poignant dimension to the temple’s message, emphasising the interplay between spirituality, health, and social responsibility.
