New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu extended congratulations to Neeraj Chopra for securing the gold medal in the javelin throw at the World Athletics Championship. The President stated that Neeraj Chopra’s accomplishments serve as an inspiration to millions of young individuals in the country. The president conveyed her congratulations to the star via Twitter.

”Neeraj Chopra made a golden achievement in Indian sports history by becoming the first Indian to secure a gold medal at the World Athletics Championships. His performance in the javelin throw final in Budapest will serve as an inspiration to millions of our youth,” the president tweeted.

Following the Tokyo Olympics, the star athlete also won a gold medal for the country at the World Athletics Championships. With this achievement, Neeraj Chopra has become the first Indian athlete to win gold in the World Athletics Championships. The athlete secured the top position by throwing the javelin to a distance of 88.17 metres.
