30 flights delayed due to dense fog in Delhi; temperature measures at 5 degrees Celsius

New Delhi: The national capital continues to grapple with persistent fog, causing significant disruptions in air travel. As of now, 30 flights slated to depart from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport are experiencing delays, with an additional 17 flights having been cancelled. The minimum temperature in the city has dropped to 5 degrees Celsius, exacerbating the challenges faced by both travellers and aviation authorities.

Passengers find themselves stuck inside the airport premises, grappling with the inconvenience of delayed flights and cancellations attributed to the heavy fog. The situation is dire, with some flights facing delays of 13–20 hours, forcing passengers to endure extended stays within the airport.

Videos circulating on social media depict frustrated passengers expressing their anger at flight attendants and airline staff. Instances of passengers shouting due to the prolonged delays have become a common sight within the airport. In a recent incident that occurred yesterday, a passenger reportedly assaulted a pilot who announced a flight delay.

Consequently, this adverse weather condition has not only affected air travel but has also caused delays in all 30 trains departing from Delhi, further compounding the transportation predicament for commuters.
