Mumbai: Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and his wife and actress Anushka Sharma have been invited to witness the ‘Prana Pratishtha’ ceremony in Ram temple at Ayodhya, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) granting a one-day leave for the star couple. The ceremony is scheduled for January 22, and both Kohli and Sharma are expected to attend before the upcoming Test series against England.
The BCCI, in response to their request, allowed Kohli a day off from the pre-Test series training camp, which is set to commence on January 20. The invitation was extended to the couple by a representative of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Theerth Kshetra Trust, who visited Kohli’s residence in Mumbai.
Former Indian cricket team captain M.S. Dhoni was also invited, although it remains uncertain whether he will attend. Additionally, Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, and Harbhajan Singh have also received invitations to the ceremony on January 22.
