Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was warmly welcomed at Kalaburagi airport in Karnataka before his departure for Solapur, Maharashtra, on Friday. The Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate several significant development projects during his visit to the city.

As per an official release from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Prime Minister Modi will be launching and laying the foundation stone for eight AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) projects in Solapur, collectively valued at around Rs 2,000 crore.

In addition to the AMRUT projects, Prime Minister Modi is set to dedicate over 90,000 houses completed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-Urban) in Maharashtra. 15,000 houses will be dedicated to the Raynagar Housing Society in Solapur, benefiting handloom workers, vendors, power loom workers, rag pickers, bidi workers, and drivers, among others.

During the programme, Prime Minister Modi will officially initiate the distribution of the first and second installments under the Pradhan Mantri Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM-SVANIDHI) scheme to 10,000 beneficiaries in Maharashtra.
