Shimla: The Congress government in Himachal Pradesh, led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, has declared January 22 as a public holiday in view of the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
The official notification released by the Himachal Pradesh government states, “It is hereby notified that the full day of 22nd January, 2024 (Monday) shall be observed as a Public Holiday in all Departments/ Boards/ Corporations/ Schools/ Colleges/ Universities etc. of Himachal Pradesh Government to enable its employees on the occasion of Ram Lalla Pran Pathishta at Ayodhya,”
In addition to the holiday announcement, Chief Minister Sukhu has urged the residents of Himachal Pradesh to light earthen lamps at their homes to mark the auspicious occasion. He also disclosed plans for the construction of a statue of Lord Ram in Jakhu.
The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya is scheduled for January 22, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and various dignitaries expected to attend the event. The public holiday aims to allow government employees to partake in the festivities surrounding this significant religious occasion.
