Ranchi: Following the arrest of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, his supporter and aide Bhanu Pratap Prasad has also been arrested by the ED in a money laundering case. Prasad had previously been arrested in a land scam, and this latest arrest follows those charges. He was brought to court at the demand of the ED, and the remand hearing is scheduled for February 5.
Hemant Soren resigned as Chief Minister amid allegations in the illegal mining scam case. After hours of interrogation, Soren was taken into custody by the ED. Subsequently, Soren met the Governor and submitted his resignation. Later, he was arrested by the ED. Champai Soren took over as Chief Minister in a state that faced political uncertainty.
