Thiruvananthapuram: The Indian Railways has announced modifications to the coaches of the Chennai-Bengaluru double-decker express and the Bengaluru-Coimbatore Uday Express to enhance passenger experience.
Previously, the Chennai-Bengaluru double-decker express featured 10 AC double-decker coaches. However, the Indian Railways have now reconfigured the train to include eight AC double-decker coaches, five non-AC coaches, and one general-class coach.
This change is expected to cater a larger number of passengers, as the train needs only five hours and 10 minutes to reach Bengaluru from Chennai, compared to the six hours and 15 minutes taken by other trains.
Similarly, the Bengaluru-Coimbatore Uday Express, which previously operated with seven AC double-decker chair car coaches, has also undergone modifications. It now features eight AC coaches and five second-sitting non-AC reserved coaches.
