New Delhi: Bharat leads significantly in smartphone manufacturing, challenging China. US smartphone companies are now turning to Bharat manufacturers, abandoning Chinese ones, showcasing the rise of Bharat’s smartphone manufacturing sector.
Estimates show that Bharat is exporting smartphones worth Rs 4.43 crore to America every hour. In the first 9 months of the fiscal year 2023-24, these exports have increased by 253 percent compared to the total exports of the previous year. Reports indicate that Bharat exported around USD 998 million during the same period in FY2022-23.
According to data from the Commerce Ministry, Bharat’s share of smartphone exports rose to 7.76 percent during April-December of this fiscal year. Increasing exports have made Bharat the third-biggest smartphone exporter to the US, while Vietnam’s exports to the United States fell to USD 5.47 billion.
