Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has appointed an inquiry commission for further investigation into the death of Siddharth, a student of Pookode Veterinary College, Wayanad. A notification was issued by the Raj Bhavan regarding this matter. Former Kerala High Court Justice A. Hariprasad has been entrusted with the inquiry commission.
The Raj Bhavan issued a notification outlining the commission’s responsibilities, which include identifying measures to prevent similar incidents in the future and scrutinising any lapses within the college. Additionally, a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) has been appointed to assist in the inquiry. The commission has been instructed to present its findings within a span of three months.
Meanwhile, the investigation documents pertaining to the case were handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). This development comes after criticism from Siddharth’s family regarding delays in transferring the case to the CBI.
Siddharth’s father, Jayaprakash had visited the Kerala Governor and Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar, and expressed his concern about justice in the case and pointing out the delay in handing over the case to the CBI.
