Pathanamthitta: The sanctum sanctorum of Sabarimala temple will be closed for four hours tomorrow during the Solar eclipse. Tantri Mahesh Mohanarar had informed Devaswom board that it is not advisable to open the portals during the eclipse.
Pilgrims will be restricted from entering when the temple remains closed.
The eclipse will take place on the 26th between 8.06 and 11.13 am. Therefore, the temple portals will be closed from 7.30 am to 11.30 am. The portal will be opened as usual in the early morning at 3.
Apart from Sabarimala, the Malikappuram and Pampa temples under the Devaswom Board will also be closed during the eclipse.
