Thiruvananthapuram : Senior CPM leader’s daughter Asha Lawrence was dismissed. Asha was working as Sales Assistant at Palayam Emporia as a daily wage employee. Asha received dismissal notice last day.
Asha Lawrence protested against her dismissal, in front of the office of SIDCO MD, last night.
The dismissal is considered as a follow up action, as her son Milan Emanuel Lawrence took part in BJP State President PS Sreedharan Pillai’s hunger strike. Milan in his interaction with the media said that his mother pushed him to be a part of the strike, she can’t avail herself as it may affect her job!
It is said that an argument happened a fortnight ago, between Asha and a relative of another CPM leader works within SIDCO, also adds to the controversy.
The officials said that Asha Lawrence is no more required at work, though there is no situation calling for dismissal of daily wage employees.
