Thiruvananthapuram: Vehicle containing stale fishes from Tamil Nadu was caught from Amaravila check post. The vehicle contained months old stale fishes that was seized by Excise and Health Department.
Officials said that these kind of rotten fish if consumed amid the coronavirus outbreak, could lead to serious health problems to the people.
On Monday, stale fishes were caught from different parts of the state. In the last three days, more than 10,000 kg of fish were seized from Kollam alone.
Officials said that fish mixed with formalin are at risk for serious illnesses and that the checking will be intensified in the coming days.
