Kochi : Petition against Syro Malabar Church, of Angamali Archdiocese’s land trade, will be considered today. The plea is checked by the Munsiff court.
In order to clear a liability of 80 crores, Ernakulam Angmali Archdiocese was trading the land worth 180 crore, for 60 crore, is the allegation against the Archdiocese. The trade involved 12 acres of land, at Thrikkakara. The land was offered to a businessman, Kochouseph Chittilappilly, for Rs 5 Lakhs per cent.
Kerala Catholic Association for Justices and Joint Christian Council stated that the of Angamali Archdiocese was trying to cheat 120 crores out of the land trade deal. The plea clearly says that, instead of Bishop George Alencherry, the land trade deal was under the supervision of Bishop Jacob, the Apostolic Administrator of the Archdiocese of Ernakulam Angamaly.
