Thiruvananthapuram: The CPM has alerted the personal staff of its ministers after Chief Minister’s office came under fire over the gold smuggling case. The Left party has asked them to stay away from all those people with suspicious background.

CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan asked the personal staff members to remain vigilant in personal relationships.

CPM summoned the meeting of all personal staff on Thursday at the AKG centre.

Kodiyeri Balakrishnan detailed the code of conduct for the staff members.

He asked them not to pave way for accusations and the offices must function more effectively. A stern warning has also been issued that not to bring dubious persons into the office and called for the need of transparency in the relationship of personal staff members.

Kodiyeri said, ” Everyone should be vigilant ahead of the elections. Do not fall prey to controversies.”

After the Left government came to power, a meeting of the Private Secretaries and Additional Private Secretaries of Ministers was convened under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister. This is the first time another meeting has been held since.
