Thiruvananthapuram: The Crime Branch will be investigating the incident pertaining to policewomen personnel who took selfie with gold smuggling accused Swapna Suresh. The Crime Branch will probe into six women police personnel that under what circumstances they clicked a picture with the accused who allegedly was being treated at Thrissur Medical College hospital.
It is learned that their phone records are also under Crime Branch’s radar. Disciplinary action will be taken against women officers on the basis of the investigation report.
The incident had stirred a huge controversy. Amid the reports that Swapna Suresh contacted top officials while under alleged treatment in the hospital, the selfie incident of the policewoman came into light. However, the woman police explained that she took the selfie out of curiosity.
