Kochi: A Principal Sessions court in Kochi on Friday reserved its order on a bail plea filed by accused Swapna Suresh in connection with the gold smuggling case, being probed by the Enforcement Directorate.
The court would pronounce its order on the bail plea on October 13.
Earlier, she was granted bail by an Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (Economic Offences) court in a case registered by the Customs department in the matter, as the Customs did not file the report within the stipulated time.
However, since the NIA has registered a separate case under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), she would remain in jail.
