Thiruvananthapuram: Attukal, the world famous temple known as ‘Women’s Sabarimala’ is set for the ten day long festivals. The special ceremony of Kappukettal will be held tonight at 10.20 pm. Ponkala falls on 20th February this year.
People in Thiruvananthapuram have already started to welcome the fest. Attukal Ponkala will be celebrated on the ninth day of the festival, is expected to witness lakhs of women devotees in the State capital to offer Ponkala, the boiling over ceremony.
Kuthiyottam ceremony will begin from 16th of this month. All arrangements have been made for the smooth darsan in the temple, said temple authorities.
Security measures have been coordinated by police officials.Special electrification is done by KSEB.
Other special rituals such as ‘Thalappoli’ and ‘Purathezhunnallippu’ will be held as a part of the festival.
