Kozhikkode: Police arrested the accused in the case of drugging a female college student and abandoning her after rape. Jinaf, a native of Kalpatta, Wayanad, was arrested by the special squad of the Rural District Police Head. The accused was arrested from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The police arrested Jinaf following a tip-off that the suspect was one of the MDMA distributors in the area.
The girl, who is a graduate student at a private college in Puthuppadi, Thamarassery, left the hostel for home on Tuesday. But when the girl didn’t return to the hostel even after few days, the hostel authorities contacted her family. The family confirmed that the girl had not come home. Following this, the girl’s father filed a complaint with the police.
The girl was found on June 1 during the investigation by Thamarassery police. The girl was found abandoned at the ninth bend of the Thamarassery Pass. The police also stated that the medical examination confirmed that the girl was brutally raped.
