In a recent incident, a bus owner in Kottayam faced severe consequences after being targeted by the CITU. The bus owner, whose livelihood was at stake, resorted to selling lottery tickets in front of his bus. He had intended to address the employees’ wage demands but requested some time to do so. However, the CITU leaders intervened by placing their union flags on the bus, effectively halting its operation until the wage dispute was resolved. Left with no other choice, the bus owner resorted to lottery sales as a means of survival.

A similar occurrence unfolded in Kalamassery, where the undue interference of CPM leaders exacerbated the challenges faced by an industrialist. Frustrated by this interference, the industrialist left a distressing note expressing his inability to continue running the business and highlighting the hardships caused by the CPM leaders.

The Managing Director of Falcon Infrastructures Limited, NA Muhammadkutty, drafted a six-page death letter, implicating the minister and local CPM leaders. The letter contains various allegations, and Muhammadkutty claims to have provided evidence supporting his claims to Thomas K. Thomas, the MLA for Kuttanad.

Muhammadkutty explains that he is facing immense difficulties as the CPM local leaders obstruct any developmental work on the company’s land. He emphasizes that if any harm befalls him, he expects the CPM leaders to be held accountable for murder. Having previously been an LDF candidate in Kottakkal, Muhammadkutty reveals that the company suffered a loss of Rs. 43 lakh during the recent floods. The company directly benefits around 100 people and indirectly supports approximately 500 individuals. Additionally, it pays around Rs. 20 lakh as provisional tax to the Eloor Municipality.

Despite obtaining a stay order from the High Court against these notices, construction activities are being halted. Muhammadkutty’s complaints to the police have yielded no results, and he remains concerned about threats from the CPM leaders.
