Kottayam: A devastating incident unfolded in Vakathanam, Pandanchira, as a car fire claimed the life of  Pandanchira Ottukatu Sabu. Despite desperate efforts to save him, Sabu succumbed to his injuries during the early hours of the morning while undergoing treatment at the medical college.

The incident occurred at approximately 10 o’clock yesterday morning. Sabu, the owner of the ill-fated car, was returning from its initial destination when tragedy struck. The car suddenly caught fire, engulfing it in flames near his residence.

Tragically, Sabu was the sole occupant of the vehicle when the fire erupted. The blaze rapidly consumed the car, leaving Sabu in a critical situation. His wife and children, upon witnessing the horrifying scene, rushed to the site in a desperate bid to rescue him.

Local residents and the fire brigade swiftly arrived at the scene, battling the flames and attempting to extricate Sabu from the engulfed car. Their combined efforts led to his rescue, with Sabu being pulled from the vehicle as the fire raged on. However, despite the immediate medical attention he received, Sabu’s injuries proved fatal, and he passed away at seven o’clock in the morning while receiving treatment at the medical college.
