Idukki: During the Onam special drive conducted by the police, a young man in possession of ganja was arrested. The Adimali Range Excise Team found 5.295 kg of ganja in Udumbanchola Bison valley village, arresting 21-year-old named Mahesh Mani.
The arrest followed an investigation prompted by information about increased drug use in the Irumpumpalam area. The ganja was sealed with plastic tape to prevent the smell. He was apprehended while smuggling ganja from Andhra Pradesh on a train for sale. Police considers him to be a key figure in smuggling ganja across various states
1 kg of ganja was brought to Kerala and sold for 30,000 rupees. He has also faced previous charges in criminal cases due to financial disputes. The accused will be taken to the Adimali court.
