Pathanamthitta: Allegation of SI assaulting a heart patient a complaint has been lodged against the SI of the Pathanamthitta police station. Ayub Khan, a resident of Melevettipuram, was subjected to physical assault. Ayub Khan’s wife, Jasina, filed a complaint with the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP).
The complaint further alleges that the police did not transport Ayub Khan to the hospital following the assault. He has sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit.
Ayub and his son-in-law got into a verbal dispute at home, which escalated into a physical altercation. The complaint alleges that SI Anoop Das was assaulted when he arrived at the Pathanamthitta station to mediate in the matter. According to his wife, Ayub was reportedly subjected to physical abuse after he was summoned inside, allegedly for sitting on a chair.
