Thiruvananthapuram: The government has seized the properties owned by the managing directors in the fashion gold investment fraud case. Properties registered under the names of former MLA MS Kamaruddin and Pookoya have been confiscated. Following the findings of the crime branch report, the government has taken the step of confiscating the assets of the company involved. The State Finance Secretary, acting as the competent authority under the Unregulated Investment Schemes Prohibition Act, issued the order for the confiscation. The defendants have been prohibited from accessing the proceeds of the confiscated properties and engaging in their resale.

The building of M.C. Fashion Ornaments Jewellery in Payyannur Town, owned by Chairman Kamaruddin and MD Pookoya Thangal, an acre of land purchased by Pookoya in Silikunda Village in Bangalore, land procured in the name of M.C. Kamaruddin and Pookoya for Khamer Fashion Gold Jewellery in Kasaragod town, a 17.29-cent plot registered under Pookoya’s name in Maniyat, Hozdurg taluk, a 17-cent land parcel registered under M.C. Kamaruddin’s name in Udinur Village,and a 23-cent plot, registered in his wife’s name, located in Udinur village, has been seized.
