Thrissur: A cloud of controversy hangs over the Muziris Heritage Project in Kodungallur, Thrissur, following allegations of the unjust dismissal of a scheduled caste tourism guide. Ajitha Unnikrishnan, a museum guide at the heritage site, claims to have been abruptly fired from her position without valid reasons, prompting concerns about fair treatment and workplace practices.

Despite filing a formal complaint in the matter, no decisive action has been taken, even after the intervention of the Collector who directed her reinstatement.

Ajitha Unnikrishnan, the individual at the centre of this controversy, has raised claims of political influence in the employment practices at Muziris Heritage Project. According to her allegations, appointments within the institution have been driven by left-wing political affiliations, fueling concerns about fairness and transparency in the recruitment process.

In an emotionally charged statement, Ajitha Unnikrishnan accused the authorities of pushing her to the brink of despair by terminating her employment without just cause. The dismissal has had a profound impact on her personal and professional well-being, raising questions about the ethical implications of such actions.
