KOCHI: The Kerala state health department initiated an investigation following an incident of food poisoning among schoolchildren who had consumed Onam Sadhya (Onam feast) at their school. The inquiry was prompted by parental complaints.
Reportedly, last Friday, numerous students who had partaken in the Onam Sadhya at Kothamangalam Green Valley School experienced health problems. Approximately 50 students were subsequently admitted to the hospital for treatment.
The affected children developed health issues such as fever and vomiting on the day following the feast. Preliminary assessments reported that the poisoning might have resulted from the consumption of contaminated drinking water.
