THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala NGO Union has demanded the withdrawal of the suspension of the revenue officer who criticised the Kerala government on social media.
The Union has taken a stand against the government’s action regarding Shanawas, a senior clerk in the Thiruvananthapuram Land Revenue Office, calling for the cancellation of his suspension.
Shanawas was suspended for posting on social media, where he criticised the government’s decision to withhold Rs 500 from the pension of a retired village officer who issued income certificates.
Members of the NGO union met with Revenue Minister K. Rajan to demand the revocation of Shanawaz’s suspension. The NGO union also organised a meeting at Thiruvananthapuram Civil Station to protest Shanawas’s suspension.
