Kannur: Rasheed, a native of Kannur, was apprehended at Kannur airport upon his arrival from Riyadh with 995 grammes of gold, leading to his arrest in a gold smuggling case. Rasheed came from Riyadh.
A few days ago, customs seized over a kilo of gold from this location. The gold, valued at Rs 62 lakh, was confiscated from Shafiq, a resident of Kasaragod, according to customs officials. The total weight of the seized gold was 1041 grammes.
