Ernakulam: A daring attempt to kidnap a woman who is involved in gold smuggling in Nedumbassery has been thwarted, leading to the arrest of a four-member gang by the special squad of the police. The incident unfolded on Thursday around 3 o’clock when the group targeted Rajani, a resident of Kottayam.
Acting on a tip-off, the police swiftly apprehended the accused, three of whom are natives of Thrissur, while the fourth hails from Palakkad. The intricate operation took a surprising turn when another man, believed to be involved in smuggling gold, was also captured by law enforcement following the attempted kidnapping.
