Kochi: Former CPM leader and Finance Minster V Viswanatha Menon passed away this morning. He was 92. Viswanatha Menon was under treatment in a private hospital at Kochi.
He entered in the field of politics while he was a student at Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam. He was elected to the Lok Sabha twice. Viswanatha Menon was the Finance Minister in the cabinet headed by E K Nayanar in 1987.
He served as corporation counselor, MP, MLA and Minister. He was the Union President of FACT for 12 years and President of Indul Union for a period of 14 years. He also served as Kochi Port Union President.
