KOCHI: In a tragic incident, two doctors lost their lives, and three others sustained injuries when their car submerged in Gothuruth, Kadalvathuruth in Ernakulam district. The deceased have been identified as Dr. Adwaith and Dr. Ajmal, both of whom worked at a private hospital in Kodungallur.
Local residents managed to rescue three individuals, including two medical students and a male nurse, from the submerged car. The police have reported that the health condition of the three rescued medical students is satisfactory.
The incident occurred around 1 am, during their return journey from Kochi after attending an event.
Despite being unfamiliar with the route, they relied on ‘Google Maps’ for navigation.
Locals complained that due to heavy rainfall, the road condition was poor, and necessary actions were not taken, while the absence of street lights also consequence to the accident.
