Thiruvananthapuram: As heavy rains persist in the state of Kerala, concerns escalate with rising water levels in three prominent rivers, Neyyar, Karamana, and Manimala. The Central Water Commission, in response to the mounting water levels, has issued a cautionary warning to residents.

In a worrying development, the search continues for an individual who went missing in the Vamanapuram River, Thiruvanathapuram. Simultaneously, efforts are underway to locate a person who disappeared after a boat capsized in Malappuram.

The Central Water Commission’s advisory underscores the seriousness of the situation, urging people to take necessary precautions as meteorological forecasts predict continued rainfall in the region.

Yellow alerts have been sounded for Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, and Ernakulam districts today. Alappuzha, in response to the alerts, has already opened three relief camps to provide shelter and assistance to those affected by the adverse weather conditions. Additionally, five relief camps have been set up in Kottayam to address the needs of residents facing the brunt of the incessant rains.
