Coastal Police recovered a body in Munambam boat mishap; search intensifies for missing trio

Kochi: The body of a man has been discovered in the aftermath of a boat accident off the coast of Munambam. The deceased has been identified as Sarath, a 24-year-old resident of Vypin, Chappa, who was the youngest among the seven individuals who ventured out to sea.

The Coastal Police, conducting search and rescue operations, located Sarath’s body around 9 a.m. today, approximately 5 miles from Azhikode. The body is set to undergo a post-mortem examination at Thrissur Medical College, after which it will be handed over to the relatives.

The search for the remaining three individuals, Shaji, Raju, and Mohan, continues. The Coastal Police have intensified their efforts in scouring the sea for any sign of the missing fishermen. Information received from local fishermen indicates the possible discovery of another body in the sea.
