Kannur: Two individuals were arrested on Thursday for threatening the police and obstructing a police vehicle. The case was registered against Sanoop and Faiz following an argument that arise when Sanoop questioned policemen in Panoor, Chokli, for not wearing seat belts.
A heated argument erupted between the policemen and the locals due to this. Just before the incident, Sanoop and his friend had been fined by the police for not wearing helmets. As the police vehicle was returning, Sanoop raised the issue that the policemen were not wearing seatbelts. In response, the police officers reportedly turned against the young man, leading to the further involvement of local residents who came to his support.
The incident gained widespread attention after the video footage went viral on social media platforms. Subsequently, the police initiated a case, resulting in the arrests of the individuals involved.
