WAYANAD: The Kerala High Court will hear a plea today, against the deposit of funds from the Valliyoorkavu Devi temple in Wayanad district into cooperative banks. The court had previously directed an explanation to be provided regarding the circumstances under which temple funds were invested in cooperative societies.
The Commissioner of the Malabar Devaswom Board is required to provide an explanation in the High Court concerning this matter. In the meantime, the High Court had sought an explanation from both the Kerala government and the Malabar Devaswom Board.
Furthermore, the court had also instructed the board to verify whether a regular audit had been conducted on the temple funds and accounts. It also directed an examination of whether the Devaswom Board had rectified any irregularities identified during the local fund audit.
