Kannur: The police have seized 832.4 grams of gold at Kannur Airport, with an estimated value of approximately Rs. 47 lakhs. The gold was seized from Mustafa, a resident of Salamath Mansil House in Chapparapadavu, who had arrived from Sharjah. Mustafa, who had cleared customs inspection, was arrested based on secret information.
Mustafa had concealed the gold in a paste form inside three capsules and hid it inside his rectum. Although the gold had gone undetected during the initial baggage screening, police, acting on suspicion, stopped him outside the airport premises. The airport police have registered a case in connection with this incident.
