Thiruvananthapuram: The ex-president of Kandala Co-operative Bank, N Bhasurangan, is set to appear once again before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) today in connection with the Kandala Co-operative Bank fraud case. A summons has been issued for him to present himself at the Kochi ED office at 10:30 a.m. Additionally, Bhasurangan’s son, Akhil Jith, has received specific instructions to attend the office. On Monday, Bhasurangan underwent an 8-hour interrogation by the ED regarding the fraud case.
The ED’s investigation has revealed significant irregularities involving crores of rupees within the Kandala Co-operative Bank, resulting in financial losses for over 1500 investors. Following Bhasurangan’s implication in the case, he was expelled from the party. Meanwhile, the Crime Branch, seeking ED investigation documents in the Karuvannur bank fraud case, has faced a setback.
