Thiruvananthapuram: A bus carrying fire force personnel to Sabarimala duty encountered an accident as its tyres were stripped off during the journey. The accident unfolded around 5 a.m. at Alamcode, near Attingal.
The bus, carrying 32 employees at the time, had departed from Thiruvananthapuram and was enroute to pick up additional staff from Kollam. After covering a distance of approximately 200 metres, the vehicle came to a halt with a resounding noise.
One of the tyre that was dislodged in the accident is yet to be found. The staff on board reported that, even after several hours following the accident, no officials had arrived at the scene and no replacement vehicle were arranged to transport the passengers.
